This evidence comes from the upstream catalog. This site has not installed, run, or security-reviewed the plugin.

Install

Start with a prompt that asks an agent to review the GitHub repository and source. Switch to the command if you want to install it yourself.

Copy this prompt into DSH, Codex, or another agent and ask it to review the GitHub repository and source first.

Do not install or run any commands yet. Read this plugin's GitHub repository, README, and relevant source code. Then answer the questions below clearly and directly so I can decide whether it fits my needs:

1. What is this plugin, and what problem does it solve?
2. Who is it for, and what are its typical use cases?
3. How is it used after installation? Include one minimal example.
4. What known limitations or privacy, security, compatibility, or maintenance risks does it have?
5. Give a clear recommendation: recommend, conditionally recommend, or do not recommend, with reasons.

Distinguish statements documented by the repository, inferences from source code, and unknowns. If evidence is insufficient, say so explicitly. Do not guess or simply repeat the README.

dsh-pdfslim — PDF Compression for DeepSeek Harness

中文

Bring production-grade PDF compression to DeepSeek Harness. This bundle wires the api.pdfslim.app MCP server (Cloudflare Worker + MuPDF engine, ~93% average compression) into your DSH profile as three tools:

Tool (as seen by the model)What it does
mcp__pdfslim__compress_pdfCompress a PDF to a target size / quality (render-rebuild engine)
mcp__pdfslim__optimize_pdfLossless structural optimization (garbage collection, stream compression)
mcp__pdfslim__inspect_pdfPage count, file size, password protection check

Install

git clone https://github.com/zhaoyaqi18/dsh-pdfslim
dsh plugin --profile <name> add ./dsh-pdfslim
dsh --profile <name>

The upstream MCP server is hosted and always-on — no local engine, no dependencies.

Usage example

> "Compress this PDF to under 1MB: ./report.pdf"

The agent calls mcp__pdfslim__compress_pdf and returns the compressed file.

Limits & pricing

  • Anonymous: 20 free calls/day per IP — perfect for trying it out.
  • Pro Key: $9.90/month, 5,000 calls, up to 100MB files — buy on Ko-fi.
  • Files up to 100MB. Gigantic files (100MB+) are handled by the web app: pdfslim.app.

When the free quota runs out, the API itself tells the AI where to go (buy a key or use the free web app) — no dead ends.

Why PDF Slim?

  • Real compression engine (MuPDF render-rebuild), not just re-packaging — measured 93% on a 11MB test PDF.
  • Privacy-first: files are processed in memory, not stored.
  • Works from anywhere: Claude, Hermes, DSH, or any MCP client.
